When Designing the Hub lamp I tried my best to take into account the many functions that the kitchen/dining table serves within a family home and the different lighting situations required.

In most homes the table serves as a central meeting point or Hub where we socialize, dine, work and play.
In the space around the table we often have other family members who might have different lighting requirements. 

By raising and lowering the pendant one can control how much light is let out into the space. By rotating and pointing the inner glass sphere one can direct the light to where its needed on the table.

This enables someone working at the table to have good quality light whilst not disturbing others lounging in the space who might prefer a more atmospheric setting.
